Vietnam – A Leading Global Golf Destination

Over the past few decades, Vietnam has rapidly emerged as one of the world’s premier golf destinations. From being recognized as the “Most Promising Golf Destination” in 2012, the country quickly advanced to earn the title of “Asia’s Best Golf Destination,” and by 2019, was honored as the “World’s Best Golf Destination” by the World Golf Awards.

As of 2025, Vietnam is home to approximately 80 operating golf courses, many of which meet international 5-star standards and are integrated within luxury resort developments. By 2030, this number is projected to reach 200 courses, serving over 300,000 golfers, including domestic players, expatriates, and international visitors.

Vietnam is widely regarded as one of the fastest-growing golf markets globally (Forbes, 2019). Its year-round playable climate and diverse natural landscapes have attracted world-renowned golf course designers such as Greg Norman, Robert Trent Jones Jr., Peter Rousseau, and Ahn Moon Hwan, resulting in a portfolio of world-class courses.

Year-Round Golfing Conditions

Stretching over 3,000 kilometers, Vietnam offers diverse climates across regions:

  • Northern Vietnam: Ideal golf season from November to April (cool, dry weather)
  • Central Vietnam: Best conditions from February to May
  • Southern Vietnam: Stable climate allows year-round play, especially in Ho Chi Minh City and the cooler highlands of Dalat
